Maggie Van Weele

Tasting Room Lead

Maggie grew up in Sonoma County, California where she developed her passions for the outdoors, tasty local food and volleyball. She attended University of Puget Sound where she studied business and environmental policy and played varsity volleyball for the Loggers. Washington stole her heart as she hiked, spiked and  reveled in the local food, beer, and wine scene that the area had to offer.

Finishing school Maggie took a leap of faith and followed her partner Eric, to the breathtaking Teton Valley Idaho where he was raised. There was always something to learn there: from skiing, and river sports to developing her experience and knowledge in the hospitality industry. Maggie devotes her passion for wine and food to her former employers Christian and Lisa Hanley who own Forage Bistro & Lounge.

Loving all that a small mountain town community and tight group of friends have to offer, Maggie and Eric still decided it was time for “city life” after three years in Teton Valley. Boise is an exciting new chapter including school and career development for the pair as they settle in with their cat named Stevie. Maggie’s former Forage coworker and friend Megan shared the opportunity that Telaya Wines Co. had to offer. Maggie is so very happy to be apart of a supportive and challenging work environment, not to mention  family at Telaya!
